Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Ghosts and Monsters page 2008

Bigfoot and Scout have faced a number of different interlopers in their neck of the woods (poachers, thieves, sideshow trappers) but perhaps none as wily and unpredictable as the latest visitors: a reality show film crew! Maybe there’s nothing to worry about. Maybe they’ll just go away. Maybe this story is only ten pages long.

And yeah, this page features a subtle callback to book one. Probably won’t be the last.

My CXC/NCS Schedule

Here’s a quick guide to where/when I’ll be sitting in at the NCS booths at Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC2018) this weekend, and the New York Comic Con (NYCC2018) next week.

  • CXC2018: NCS Table#55, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2pm – 5pm
  • NYCC2018: NCS Booth#304. Saturday, Oct. 6, 1-4 / Sunday, Oct. 7, 10-1:30

If you’ll be at either event, stop by and say hi. And if anything changes, I’ll post it on my Twitter and Instagram accounts (where I’ll also be posting images and news from the cons).

Create Cryptids With Hybridizer

Got a few minutes to kill? Visit Digital Culture’s interactive Hybridizer and stitch together your own cryptozoological oddities using the art of 17th century engraver Matthäus Merian. Who knows? Maybe you’ll create a new legend.

Sea Serpents In New York

NYCC is held in the Javits Convention Center, right on the banks of the Hudson River where, back in 1895, someone spotted a sea serpent. The sighting was even reported by The New York Times.

And that’s not the only account of a sea monster in the waters around New York. In fact, there’s reportedly a strange beast off the shores of City Island known as the City Island Sea Serpent. Multiple reports of these sightings date back as far as 1877. Could these sea serpents still be out there? I don’t know. But while I’m down near the water this October, I’ll keep my eyes peeled just in case.

Thanks for reading! I’m hoping to post another page next week before I leave for New York, so you keep your eyes peeled too! -v

  1. Ha! Don’t know why I didn’t expect you to touch on this subject, Vince! Gotta say the most hilarious of the BigFoot hunter reality shows are those of the “Mountain Monsters” series. Those guys are a ready made cartoon! XD

    • Ha, you know, RG, it’s just been moving in that direction naturally since early on. People have been referencing those “bigfoot hunter” shows to me since I started the comic, in the comments, and at cons. It feels like the logical progression. I’m hoping we all have some fun with it. -v

  2. Watch out for Scout, he’ll want to become a TV star!
