Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Devil In The Details

<<<First | <<First “Devil” | <Previous | Next>

It was a well-fought battle, and a valiant effort to make another friend, but as a long-time denizen of New Jersey myself, I feel like the Devil belongs back in the Pine Barrens. Or maybe he went after those goons in the truck. That’d be poetic justice. Either way, it looks like it’s just Bigfoot and Scout again — unless Scout’s onto something about there being more monsters out there. And maybe more Bigfoots. Makes you think, doesn’t it? Makes me think, anyway.

Peckish: Disappointment In Five Panels

This, I imagine, is how Scout will remember the evening.

Smells Like Printer’s Ink

I’ve had a lot of fun with these short story arcs. So much fun, in fact, that I thought I’d like to see them in print. (Dave Garret almost blew the surprise in last week’s comment section. That guy might be psychic.) I didn’t want to pester anyone with a Kickstarter, so I sold a few vital organs (don’t worry, they weren’t mine) and ordered a small print run of the Untold Tales of Bigfoot Fall Special. If things go according to plan, I’ll have copies with me at New York Comic Con.

Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Devil In The DetailsThe book will feature a couple of the fall-themed shorts I’ve posted, and maybe an extra page or two that didn’t show up online. And that moody, black-and-white short you just finished reading, Devil In The Details, will be printed in full, lurid color. Take a look.

Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Devil In The DetailsAll of these images are from the proof, of course. A single copy of the comic that the printer sends me ahead of time before they go into full production.

Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Devil In The DetailsThe proof is something I use to check the colors, make adjustments, and do a final check on spelling and dialogue. And boy am I glad I did — why didn’t you guys tell me how weird some of these panels were?

Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Devil In The DetailsEveryone knows Scout wears his monocle on his right eye. Anyway, I’ll have more details about the Untold Tales of Bigfoot Fall Special (page count and price) once I get the books from the printer. Until then, yes, I have something in the works to follow this up. I’ll keep you posted. -v

  1. Ok,
You’ve got one sale here for sure. That was really fast, last week I ask about a book collecting them, and you did it all in a week just for me. Thanks!

    • Yes, Dave! All for you! : ) Hope I got it done quickly enough.

Heh…. it was a heck of a thing to try to keep secret, coloring all the “Devil” pages in full color, and you almost went and spilled the beans for me one week early. Paranormal, I contend. Psychic abilities. -v

  2. According to the “Mountain Monsters” team, there’s all different species of bigfoot out there…

    • The more I learn about Bigfoot, the less I know. He a seemingly limitless puzzle to put together. -v

  3. Wait—NO! I wanted him to stay and help them fight future crime! I’ll still buy the book, though.

    • I know, I know. It just wasn’t destined to be. I wasn’t ready to remove the mystery surrounding the Jersey Devil quite yet. Heck, I’m still not entirely sure the Jersey Devil was a “him” after all that. -v
