Well, there they go — back to the cave, enemies vanquished, tummies full, friendship renewed, and with heroic musical accompaniment. And fan-favorite, Squeaky the squirrel even makes an appearance! For this final page of the short, I wanted to go out with a bang and revisit the idea of open space, so the bottom panel border disappeared and the forest expanded. And I continued my coloring experiments, trying out a different technique on the stream than I ever have before. I like it. Fiddling around with process can be rewarding.
Process
Speaking of that, I did an entire step-by-step post about this page on my process blog. So, if you wanna see how this page progressed from initial pencils to final colors, head over to my process blog.
That’s A Wrap
Thanks for reading “Heading For A Fall” these last few months. This short began in September, just about the time the leaves were starting to fall, and now it seems like winter’s blowing in. Hope you folks have a great holiday(s). Stay warm. I’ll be working on more Bigfoot and Scout, as well as attending a few cons in the upcoming year. Follow me on twitter (@vincedorse) for the most up-to-date updates. I’ll keep you posted. -v
Needle-felted Bigfoot and Scout by my pal @RunRedRun. And since they’re so cute, here’s another one from that wintry photoshoot.
