Was there ever any doubt that Scout’s sniffer was top notch? Sheer size alone puts it in a class of its own. I’m inking the next page now, and with any luck I’ll have it done by next week so we can see what Scout’s sniffing.
Trying something slightly different with this short, by the way. I’m doing the panel layouts, lettering, (some) penciling, and all the inking in Clip Studio Paint (still coloring in Photoshop because I prefer CMYK). I did the first book by jumping between Illustrator, Painter, and Photoshop. But I’m trying to streamline things. We’ll see how it goes.
Phoebe and Beeswax at Baltimore Comic Con
Unable to stop fidgeting, I made another short comic story. Phoebe and Beeswax is a goofy, sweet story about a girl, Phoebe, who’s trying to figure out what her talent is. Her cat, Beeswax, is more than happy to help.
This was initially going to be a half-size, black-and-white mini comic. But I couldn’t stop fiddling with the thing and now it’s a 32-page, full-sized, full-color comic (really more of a kid-lit story in comic book form, if you can picture that).
You can read a little more about the story on the Long Lost Friend Studio blog, and see how it went from a b/w mini to a color comic on my process blog. And if you want to pick up a copy, I’ll be debuting Phoebe and Beeswax at Baltimore Comic Con, Table A-233, later this month.
See you next week (hopefully) with another page of this Bigfoot & Scout short. -v

My Wednesday morning entertainment is back! Can’t wait to see who’s cooking . . . and what.
I can’t wait either, Anni! I’m letting Bigfoot and Scout steer the plot again. Really takes the pressure off me. : ) -v
