Home. Unfortunately for Scout, this mysterious cave in the middle of a treacherous forest is not the home he’s been searching for. He doesn’t have much of a choice in the matter, though. Hey, at least he’s not neck-deep in quicksand!

The Bigfoot and Scout Holiday Sketch Card Giveaway has ended! Congratulations to Michael. Your sketch card will be mailed out this week!

More fan art! This week is “man-beast’s best friend” week as I exchange sketches with Don Ahé, creator of the Road Apples Almanac webcomic. I took a run at his characters, Aldous and Shep, while he painted the Bigfoot and Scout below. Don surprised me with this sketch one night last week, out of the blue, and I couldn’t be more pleased. He captured a real sense of that friendship Bigfoot’s been looking for.

Feel free to check out Don’s long-running action/comedy Road Apples Almanac, the adventures of a mysterious man-otter and his faithful dog, told in a refreshingly non-linear way with artwork that ranges from stark black-and-white to classic, Sunday-comics color (heads up, mom and dad, for some PG links/content). And, while you’re there, take a gander at the Road Apples fan-art I sent Don! Happy Holidays! -v

  1. That’s going to be a big change for Scout, moving from two homes to a cave!

  2. Oooh, mysterious! I think it looks like an awesome place to live!

  3. Beautiful page Vince! Love how the story is unfolding!

  4. Well Scout if it will make you more comfortable I’m sure Bigfoot can find a smaller cave you can stay in, heck he might even be able to scratch Woof Woof above the entrance for ya.

    • Exactly, Todd. I’m pretty sure “The Adventures of Bigfoot and Woof Woof” probably isn’t the way Scout hopes this story unfolds, but how much choice does he really have in the matter? Thanks for reading! -v

  5. Now that’s a pad! Love the vista and sky, Vince!

  6. A roof over your head and a warm cosy bed, what more could you ask for!

  7. This is awesome! Very homey cave.

    • You’re right. I sometimes think if I had a warm, cozy cave in a nice, secluded spot, I’d get along just fine. Bigfoot’s got a nice setup. I’m jealous.-v
