Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Crossing Paths page 013

Untold Tales of Bigfoot: Crossing Paths page 013

<<First   |  <Previous  |   Next>

This week: Finally, some food! A real life Bigfoot sighting! And we say goodbye to an old friend.

Scout’s rightfully suspicious of the free fish dinner. Should he investigate? Or leave well enough alone? As for Bigfoot, cutting and running is probably wise, considering his track record of terrifying potential friends.

Now, some exciting news for Bigfoot fans. Last week, Elvin (Bigfoot aficionado and fan of this blog) posted a comment that included a link to a recent, potential Bigfoot sighting. Elvin writes:

“That last panel [on page 12] reminds me of the latest video on Bigfoot. Have you seen it? If not, here it is. It’s life imitating art. Or maybe Vince had a premonition this would happen. Whatever the case may be, the hikers in the video ran off proving that it’s hard for a Bigfoot to make a friend. Oh yeah, great art as always. I like where this is going.”

So what do you think? Am I psychic? Was that Bigfoot? An elaborate hoax? Let’s hear your theories.

And finally, a sad goodbye today to one of the hard-working cast members here at Untold Tales of Bigfoot. I’m speaking, of course, about the stick. That stick, first seen on page two of our story, pulled double duty as “Prop Stick #13” in today’s page. But an accident during production proved fatal for the stick and he did not recover from his injuries. A fine thespian, the stick is remembered fondly in this musical memorial tribute I put together. Your thoughts and memories of the stick are welcomed in the comments.

Next Week: Unexpected Peril! -v

Thanks for stopping by. I’d love to hear what you think of the comic. Just remember, Untold Tales of Bigfoot is for grown-ups and kids. So let’s keep the comments appropriate.

  1. Hard to tell. Bears tend to hang their forelegs in front of themselves when they stand upright and their “shoulders” are low, not high and square like a man’s. There is space on the creatures left, and it’s high enough up to look more like shoulder than a bear’s foreleg, but my money is on the bear rather than big foot. It could have been standing on a piece of high ground, making it look taller than it actually was, too. Or it could be someone in a suit obscured by branches.

    • I know…48 seconds of shaky camera, right? And the hikers ditch just when it starts to get good! In a court of law, I couldn’t swear to it, but I’m going to lean toward this being a sasquatch sighting because I am (in case you hadn’t heard) pro-Bigfoot. : ) -v

  2. We just need some braver hikers. You know, someone who’s willing to put his life on the line for posterity instead of running like the rest of us would.

    • Agreed. Like those spunky hikers that went after the Blair Witch! Sure, it didn’t turn out so well for them…but the video record is priceless! -v

  3. I think it’s either a bigfoot or some other cryptid, mostly because I want it to be. I also feel bad about the stick. He seemed like a stand-up guy.

    • Agreed. On all accounts. I’ve read that people who encounter sasquatch also encounter the sasquatch’s overpowering aroma. Nobody mentions that in the video, but maybe they were upwind.

  4. I was hoping that it was only a green stick fracture. It is so sad to hear about the passing of such a humble character due to some accident. The music was very nice, sniff, sniff.

    • Yes, Stick was a real trooper. Always giving more than he got. The world needs more sticks like him. -v

  5. The stick memorial was utterly silly.

    Well done.

    • You have no idea how unreasonably happy it makes me to hear that someone appreciated the stick memorial. : ) Thanks! -v
