Thanks, Anni. That totem pole. Sheesh! That’s one of those things where you start drawing it and realize you’ve just written something into the story that’ll double the time it takes to finish illustrating the pages. Like a naturalist character who lugs around a bunch of detailed accessories. What was I thinking?! Thanks for words of encouragement. -v

Scout is loyal, and that’s one of a dog’s best qualities. You can’t hear those stories of dogs traveling cross country to find their way back home without tearing up a bit. You make us feel for Scout as much as I do for Bigfoot, that’s what makes this page so special.
