This week, we return to present day. That means Scout’s back. And it looks like the long day’s journey hasn’t worn out his jaw muscles at all. Even Bigfoot — patient, kind Bigfoot — could probably stand a break from the chatter. Nevertheless, onward they press.
And as they move forward, I’m going to step backwards for a bit. After page 55 posted last week, a friend emailed to ask, “why didn’t you post that process image you were working on?” Because, friend, I was really sleepy and crazy busy and I forgot. So if nobody minds, I’ll just post some of those things this week that were intended for last week. Appropriately enough, we’ll start with a past vs. present comparison.
Here are a couple examples of past events echoing in the present. Bigfoot’s bedtime etiquette and the eerie similarity of the two glyphs, separated by time.
And here’s a quick rundown of the process steps for page 55. I was recently flipping through a worn, 2″x3″ notebook and stumbled across the original, scribbled layout for that page. I remember I did it at lunch. I had a salad. Anyway, I usually come up with the dialogue and panel breakdowns in that first, rough stage. Looks like I didn’t stray too far from that original doodle. -v
